The BISFA General Assembly of May 26, 2010
   

Highlights were:

  • A work program was adopted.
  • A new booklet “Testing methods of bare Elastolefin Yarns” is available. Good progress is made with the revision of the p-aramid booklet.
  • BISFA continues to support the application of new generic names. The application for Propylamid Composite is still ongoing.
  • The optimized procedure for the generic name application, with BISFA input, has been published on the website of DG Enterprise, and is being further discussed between Commission and Parliament. Parliament wants to extend the scope with new labelling items.
  • The revised ISO 2076 Standard on textile names (convened through BISFA) has meanwhile been officially published in January 2010.
  • The 2009 accounts and the budget for 2011 have been approved.
