Esters of terephthalic acid and
- ethylene glycol = dimethylene = 2
- propylene glycol trimethylene 3
- butylene glycol tetramethylene 4
- cyclohexyldimethanol
are all generic polyester fibres (they can easily be de-polymerised with water or methanol to TPA/DMT)
