Recognising the need to avoid confusion of technical terms, BISFA published its first Terminology of Man-Made Fibres in 1968. This contained terms and definitions describing the different methods by which man-made fibres are manufactured, either as primary materials or as intermediate products. To preclude language difficulties and misunderstanding the main technical terms used were translated into five languages.
The 2009 version of the Terminology of Man-Made Fibre booklet is available.
